Golden Gaits Stables is like no other stables. Riders enjoy a smooth ride on beautiful Tennessee Walkers, Missouri Fox Trotters and other fine gaited horses. Animals are highly maintained and cared for, well trained and from top bloodlines. Other stables provide “nose to tail” in line riding on horses that naturally cause the rider to bounce. Gaited horses “glide” in a forward, four beat movement….. keeping the rider secure in the saddle. Golden Gaits horses offers a more comfortable ride with minimal soreness when first learning or returning to horseback riding.
RIDING LESSONS: Instructors stress three things for students.....Good Control of the horse, riding with correctness and confidence and safety. With a special focus on western style riding for trail and pleasure offer students an activity that can be enjoyed for lifetime. Lessons are on Saturday mornings and are taught in a group setting. Private lessons are scheduled on a special basis. Students ride Tennessee Walkers, Missouri Fox Trotters and other gaited pleasure horses that offer a smooth four beat gait with no bounce in the saddle. Riders start in the saddle with lessons in an arena. After the rider learns the correct signals to the horse and exhibits good control and confidence the next step of learning begins. Students are then moved to a nearby city park where they get to experience a nice ride while perfecting what they have learned. Unlike other stables, as riders progress, they are moved to different, more challenging horses so they learn that the techniques are the same for any mount but with a different degree of ability. It's not only about riding in the saddle but all the aspects of working with horses including grooming, caring for the horse, cleaning stalls, saddling and bridling, caring for tack, confirmation and much more.
INTERACTION WITH HORSES FROM THE GROUND: Some people just enjoy the ground activities with horses such as grooming, picture taking, petting and relaxing the bonding that takes place between horse and human. We offer supervised and unsupervised ground activities for one on one bonding.
BIRTHDAY PARTIES: Plan a great activity for 10 or more children. Bring your own set up and goodies and gather around the campfire. Roast hot dogs, toast marshmallows, cut the cake and enjoy the great outdoors. After gifts are opened, riders will enjoy approximately 50 minutes of riding and then experience unsaddling and grooming, plus feeding treats to their favorite mount. Parties are scheduled at approximately 1pm on Saturday. Other times schedule at a higher minimum.
